An NRA certified range safety officer (RSO) is required at all live fire activities involving Scouting America Troops and Crews. This course will teach each individual the knowledge, skills, and attitude that is essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe range activities and operations.

This Includes learning about:

  • Range Standard Operating Procedures
  • range inspection
  • range rules
  • range briefings
  • emergency procedures
  • firearm stoppages and malfunctions

Additional Information:

  • Cost: $20 per participant
  • Absolutely no participant fire arms orammunition allowed on camp property. All fire arms used for demonstration will be Camp-owned or provided by RSO instructors. All demonstrations and exercises will use snap caps or clearly marked dummy shells;no live ammunition will be used during this course.
