Training: Scoutmaster Specific
Description:
Scoutmaster Training is designed for new Scoutmasters & Asst. Scoutmasters, and for current leaders that are changing roles in the Troop.
This training covers general Troop organizational structure and position-specific topics, providing a 360 degree perspective of your position.
Required Training for Scoutmasters is as follows:
Scoutmaster Specific: Leaders will learn and apply proven techniques for running an effective Scouts BSA Troop. They will also learn how to meet the aims of Scouting by applying the eight methods of the Boy Scouting program during the four (4) main sessions of the is the course: Patrol Method, Support Team, Advancement & Annual Planning.
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS): This hands-on program will give the adult leader the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors.
Both of the above Training Sessions must be completed to be considered "Trained" for their Scoutmaster or Asst. Scoutmaster position.
