Position-Specific Training (Units)

Role-Based Training

So you have taken the required Safeguarding Youth Training but training does not stop there!

All leaders are encouraged to take part in leader position-specific training before they meet with youth (or within 90 days) to prepare them for the opportunities and responsibilities relating to their leadership positions. This is also an opportunity for new leaders to get answers to questions they may have about their roles and about Scouting America in general. Training is available for every position at the unit level. See below for a list of position-specific trainings available by program type.

Completion of Safeguarding Youth Training and your Position-Specific Training is the measurement for being "trained" in Scouting America, allowing you to wear the Trained patch for your current position. The Trained patch is available for purchase from the Iott Scout Shop.
