Aquatics

E-Learning
There are many online training available that cover various topics, including wellness, weather hazards (required for any unit outing), and some basic online training in water safety and climbing. You may take all E-Learning trainings by clicking HERE.

Outdoor Skills Training Courses
Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
At least one adult on a pack or den outdoor activity must have completed Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) to properly understand the importance of program intent, youth protection guidelines, health and safety, site selection, age-appropriate activities, and sufficient adult participation.
This 1 1/2 day training is required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor activity, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. Webelos leaders that completed training prior to August 2017 must retake unless they have also completed Outdoor Webelos Leader Skills (OWLS) training. All participants must complete the online requirements before attending this training and provide proof of completion at check-in at Skills Session.

Train-The-Trainer Courses
"Fundamentals of Training" & Trainers EDGE are required courses for various Erie Shores Training Staff. The purpose of the course is to provide and help develop the platform skills of a trainer. Only practice can polish these skills, but this course focuses on training behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media. This course is open to both youth and adults.

University of Scouting
The University of Scouting is an adult leader's learning adventure! It is an action-packed, fun-filled single day of supplemental training where you choose the sessions you wish to take. Sessions are led by experienced volunteers and professionals who will help you enhance your ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the Scouts.

Leave No Trace (Outdoor Ethics)
The Leave No Trace or Outdoor Ethics program is an important part of the BSA program. Often throughout the year, our Council has a trainer and awareness course.
